This contract involved the
construction of masonry in a 16ft-high weir on the River Clywedog at
Bontuchel, Ruthin to improve upstream river access for
migrating adult fish, encouraging them to return and spawn in an
area that was previously inaccessible to
them.
Working as a subcontractor to
William Hughes in an environmentally sensitive area of natural
beauty, and supervised by the Environment Agency to EU standards,
this project involved working in a difficult area with access
problems and obvious health and safety restrictions whilst
